“I am incapable of conceiving infinity, and yet I do not accept finity.” ― Simone de Beauvoir, La Vieillesse
Welcome to the new Abstractron website! Only about four years past due, this site should serve as a one-stop shop for figuring out what hijinks we’re getting up to, like events and updates to our games. Also some information here on who we are and why we bother, pretty standard fodder for all of you website fans out there.
Quantized on Steam for Vive/Rift
Just in time to close out the year, our first game Quantized released on Steam last month with support for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. For the uninitiated, Quantized is a VR rhythm game that allows the player to decide which music content they want to play with. It’s incredibly exciting after what was years of work in various forms to create an experience that’s fun, immersive and emergent. Even though the game is available in full release, playable form, we have far more features in mind that we plan to add over the next year. Join our Fun Team and help us shape the game as it evolves!
MAGFest and PAX South 2018!
To get 2018 started right Abstractron made appearances both at MAGFest and PAX South! Both events consisted of fun, friends and tons of demos. It was awesome to meet and chat with folks getting a chance to play for the first time, and feedback about Quantized was incredibly positive! We’re preparing the next set of updates based on feedback from those we got a chance to speak to before gearing up for PAX East 2018 April 5-8 in Boston! Stay tuned for info about future events as well.
Quantized is already available for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, but while on the road we also received a handful of requests to both support Windows MR (Mixed Reality) headsets, as well as PlayStation VR. We’re working on both now! Not only that, but YouTube and Spotify support are on their way as well allowing you to use your personal playlists to drive the experience. Again, join the Fun Team to stay informed and let us know what other platforms/services you use that you’d like to see support for! For really: our players are our prime directive and we want to work with them to make the best experiences we can. 🙂
Here’s to a great year! Thanks to fans and friends for all of their support thus far and in 2018.
